Speech 2020
Anyone who is ready to perform and willing to work can participate in speech. There are so many events to choose from: monologues, poetry, duets, improvisation, chorale reading, and more.
PERFORMANCES-- There are two contest dates. There is a regional contest and the state contest. These events usually take place in late October/early November. Speech team members must be able to commit to attending these two events. Students will also have a chance to showcase their talents at PTO Speech Night right here at BGS.
REHEARSALS--Speech students practice during lunch in Mrs. McKinty's room 2-4 times a
week. Practices are important. If you are part of a small group or duet, your partners are depending on you. That being said, the majority of students' work will take place on their own time.
ELIGIBILITY-- Grades come first! Grades matter! If you are not passing your classes, you cannot perform.
PICK YOUR EVENTS--
First year speech students may participate in 1-2 events excluding improv
Second year speech students may participate in 1-3 events including improv
