Classroom rules
- Always come to class prepared. This includes your textbook, ELA binder, any homework due, a novel to read, paper, and a writing utensil. Be in your seat when the bell rings.
- Always respect the opinions of others and their right to be heard. Respect your teacher by not talking when I am talking. Respect others in the classroom by not talking when someone else is talking. Raise your hand if you have a question or want to participate in a class discussion.
- Do your homework! It's important because it is a continuation of what we do in the classroom. It is also an important part of your grade!
- Listen, watch, ask questions, and pay attention. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
- No gum, food, or drink in my classroom unless given special permission.
classroom procedures
- Enter the classroom quietly and begin working on your warm-ups. If you finish your warm-ups before the materials check then read from a novel.
- Bring all materials to class. Every class begins with a materials check. You will not be able to go to your locker during class. If you do not have a writing utensil or paper then ask a classmate if you can borrow them. If you cannot borrow from a classmate then ask to borrow classroom supplies. DO NOT THROW ANYTHING AWAY!
- The agenda for the day is always posted on the board.
- Homework is due at the beginning of class. If your work is late, you will receive a drop in letter grade for each day that it is late.
- If you are absent, you will have two days to make up the work and one day for each missed day thereafter.
